The Best Valentine’s Day Dinners from Around the World

Going out for dinner is great, but who wants to go out on one of the busiest nights of the year, Valentines Day? With three course fixed menus, going out on Valentine’s Day is not only expensive, but you can’t always get exactly what you want. By the comfort of cooking at home, make that special someone exactly what they want. Here at Tasty Table Catering, we realize that cooking for a loved one is romantic and so we’ve narrowed down our favorite home-cooked Valentine’s Day meals. That’s amore!

1. Grilled Steak and Roasted Potatoes

Show them you care with a fancy steak dinner for two. Grill this hearty American dish or pan fry it in garlic butter; either way is delicious. And, while your waiting for the potatoes and steak to be done, pop open a bottle of red wine for the perfect pairing.

2. Spaghetti with Mussels and Shrimp

Hopefully you’ll end up stuck on the same piece of spaghetti like Lady and The Tramp. Serve it in a red sauce or white sauce, it’s your choice. Top it with cilantro to make it look as good as it tastes. This delicious dish is simple to make, but it sure is impressive. Serve this Italian dish with Tiramisu for dessert. Mangia!

3. Honey Soy Glazed Salmon

Wow that special someone with this delicious dish. Serve it with vegetables or white rice, it’s all up to you.Whisk soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, ginger, and garlic together until honey dissolves. Top it on the salmon about halfway through. Drink Pinot Noir with this baked dish. For dessert, continue with the Asian themed cuisine by serving mochi or fried banana cakes.

4. Chicken Cordon Bleu

This delicious dinner is chicken stuffed with cheese and ham, breaded and deep fried. It will make your special someone feel like they are eating in one of the most romantic countries, France, because of the culture behind this dish. Serve it with something light and zesty such as a salad, asparagus, or potatoes. For dessert, also serve something French, like crème brûlée or mousse au chocolat (chocolate mousse). Bon Apetite!

5. Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

This lovely dinner is seasoned perfectly with hints of rosemary and thyme. The warm colors that make up this dish are inviting, appetizing, and tasteful. Serve this impressive meal with couscous or tabbouleh. For dessert, continue with the Middle Eastern theme by serving baklava. “Sahten,” as an Arab would say.
